A familiar face

McKenzie Westmore is an actress, television host, and the founder of Westmore Beauty. Viewers may know her as Sheridan Crane on Passions or as the host of Face Off, the competition series built around special-effects makeup. Her public work moves between performance, explaining a craft, and demonstrating products.

There is a practical connection between those roles. A host has to make someone else’s process understandable. A beauty founder has to help a customer see what a product is for and how it fits into a routine. Westmore’s own website brings those sides together through her on-camera work and makeup demonstrations.

A family craft

Westmore Beauty traces its heritage to the family’s work in Hollywood makeup, beginning with George Westmore in 1917. The company describes McKenzie’s role as bringing that experience into its cosmetics. The current range includes body coverage, face makeup, eye products, and tools.

That history gives the brand a specific starting point. Our interest is in how specialist knowledge becomes something a customer can use: the choice of product, the demonstration, and the language used to explain it. The founder’s visibility gives people a person to follow as well as a product to try.
